Regulatory Framework

In conformity with directive of 23/6/2016 referring to the previous of 2009/28/CE, about promoting and use of renewable energies, a biomass is the biological part of products, waste materials and biodegradable part of industrial and urban garbage.

It continues with the necessity of using and handling biomasses considering the necessity of a sustainability in order to minimize environmental impact.

Production of energy

In accordance with directive 2009/28/CE of the European parliament, fall into the category of biomasses also the agricultural and agro- industrial working waste materials (such as nutshells, almond shells, fruit and olive kernels). This kind of combustibles can be defined as bio-combustibles because represent a green alternative to classic fuel. This bio-fuels, as a matter of facts, are capable of giving an important thermal input, moreover are almost harmless for the planet.
